A few red flags: a site that claims "100% green" without ever publishing its PUE or the source of its electricity; "carbon neutrality" based solely on buying credits, with no real efficiency effort; or self-awarded eco badges, without independent certification. A serious host embraces transparency: it explains how it reduces its consumption, with figures to back it up, before talking about offsetting.
